Individual Psychotherapy
As a therapist, I am often described as “speaking gently honest words.” I hold immense respect for the vulnerability, bravery, and candor my patients bring in to our work together, and I strive for you to feel a sense of safety and authenticity in the shared space that we hold. As a psychoanalytic therapist, I believe that our past informs our present, often in ways that feel mysterious or might elude us. But by understanding your development, we can begin to get to the roots of your suffering, and help you heal. This is done at a pace that feels right for you, helping a therapeutic relationship form over time that acts as a catalyst for insight, growth, and a change in how you relate to the world.
I also recognize the importance of the multiplicity of influences in your life, including childhood, familial dynamics, cultural understandings, societal pressures, religion, oppressive systems of power, etc. And I welcome your feedback on how you feel our therapy is going, to ensure that it’s a co-created endeavor.
Due to the nature of how I work with my patients, I most often request a 1-3 times a week cadence after an initial consultation session, and am only seeing patients in-person at my office in downtown Chicago. I offer very limited virtual appointments on a case-by-case basis, and only work with adults and adolescents.
